Review on Champions Trophy so far.

From the downfall of certain teams to the rise of criticized individuals, this Champions Trophy had it all. The Champions Trophy was a rollercoaster till now from thrilling nail-biters to boring one sided dead rubber matches. It has truly been a tournament with everything that one wants in an established ICC tournament.    The downfall of Pakistan has to be discussed. From winning the last Champions Trophy in 2017 to being the first to be knocked out this time on their home ground. Before the Champions Trophy Pakistan won the series in Australia and in South Africa. Many would say they were favorites to go deep into the competition. One setback they faced was that Saim Ayub was ruled out and had to be replaced. It all seemed that only one person had to be changed in the squad that was flying high.    Well that was a wrong guess, for one person having to supposedly be changed they had to bring in Faheem Ashraf, Khushdil Shah and Fakhar Zaman. Now one woul...

Review on Pakistan vs India

A match that everyone awaited has made many fans disappointed. What everyone thought would be a thrilling match had turned out to be a very one sided match. Pakistan got off to a positive start however Babar got out and Imam got out foolishly.    A huge partnership of 100 plus between Saud and Rizwan saw the Pakistan camps hopes arise however not for long. The partnership was broken when Rizwan yorked himself and soon Saud was caught in the deep. Tayyab fell as well. Only hope left was Salman and Khushdil do something however Kuldeep didn't let them. He took 2 back to back wickets of Salman and Shaheen. Naseem and Khushdil resisted for a while untill Kuldeep picked up Naseem as well.   The innings finished with Pakistan on a measely total of 241 bowled out. The bowling was a nightmare. Rohit and Shubman dessimated them. Shaheen dismissed Rohit in fabulous fashion but the runs didn't stop. Abrar slowed it down and eventually took Shubmans wicket. The fielding was dr...

What a thriller! Everything to know about England Vs Australia

England vs Australia, a match the world held their breath for. I can say this it did not disappoint. From Duckett's 165 to Inglis' maiden century of 120* we saw some terrific hitting as well. The match started off with England using the pitch conditions perfectly. Soon though the first wicket fell with an amazing catch from Alex Carey, someone usually seen with gloves on took a breathtaking catch on the edge of the circle.    Joe Root and Duckett had an important partnership and some good finishing by Livingstone and Archer took England to a Mamoth total of 351 runs. Australia had a huge target to chase. They started off shaky losing 2 wickets early in the 4 and 5 overs respectively. Travis Head and Steve Smith were the only ones to miss out on as Matt Short and Marnus Labushagne steadied the ship. 2 wickets fell quick and Josh Inglis and Alex Carey appeared at the wicket together.   These two almost single handedly took Australia to the finish line. This made Austr...

Pakistan's curse broken! India with a lot to think about.

We have just witnessed one of the biggest upsets and unexpected results in recent cricket history. For the first time since 2022 Pakistan has won a test match. This however is not even the most shocking thing. Pakistan has won the series against England at home for the first time since 2021 against South Africa. After a devestating defeat in the first match Pakistan made a lott of changes as keeping only Aamer Jamal as the sole seamer. They also brought in Noman Ali and Sajid Khan the 2 specialist spinners alongside Zahid Mahmood the leg spinner. Noman and Sajid dominated afterwards taking all the 40 wickets in the remaining 2 matches. In a change of events the PCB left out Babar Azam, Shaheen Affridi and Naseem Shah. This decision turned in their favour despite many people criticizing it.  An even more surprising thing is that New Zealand defeated India in a 3-0 clean sweep. This was something very humiliating for India since they lost clean sweeped Test series at home. The ...

Aftermath of Pakistan and England 1st Test Match

It has been a very disappointing and humiliating match for Pakistan however if you look at it from an English Perspective there are a lot of positives to look forward too. In a time such as this for England with 2 of their longest serving and consistent bowlers retired 1 after another the future is still bright for English fans.    Without doubt England dominated this match whether with bat or ball. The ever consistent Joe Root stood up and shined bright alongside the destructive Harry Brook. Joe Root got to a score of 262 runs of 375 balls. Meanwhile Harry Brook made an austonding career best in international cricket of 317 runs of 322 balls. England declared with the score of 823/7.     Not long after did the bowlers have to strike and become the star of the show. On the very first ball of Pakistans second innings Abdullah Shafique played all around Chris Woakes's ball nipping back inside. Wickets kept falling as Gus Atkinson and Brydon Carse took 2 wi...

Pakistan predicted starting XI against England 1st Match

Pakistan is set to play England in a 3 test match series at home starting from 7th October 10:30 AM local time. Pakistans luck in tests recently had been a mix as they have not been playing well recently however there have been glimpses of hope for Pakistan. The squad that the PCB has selected is as follows: Shan Masood(C) Babar Azam Abdullah Sahfique Noman Ali Abrar Ahmad Naseem Shah Shaheen Affridi  Aamer Jamal Sarfaraz Ahmad(WK) Mohammad Rizwan(WK) Muhammad Hurraira  Mir Hamza Salman Ali Agha Saim Ayub Pakistan should play this as their starting team: 1.Saim Ayub 2.Muhammad Hurraira  3.Shan Masood 4.Saud Shakeel 5.Mohammad Rizwan(WK) 6.Salman Ali Agha 7.Aamer Jamal 8.Shaheen Affridi 9.Naseem Shah 10.Noman Ali 11.Abrar Ahmad A lot of you may be confused why I have not included Abdullah Sahfique or Babar Azam in this team. Well the plain reason is that Abdullah Shafique had not been playing well for the past few series. I feel he should be given rest same as Babar ...

Youngsters To Look Forward To In The Near Future.

The world of cricket is ever changing. So much so that lately the teams that are striving have a mix of youngsters who are energetic and always ready, along side the experienced men to help guide them whether on or off field. The Impact James Anderson's Retirement Has On England

What Happened:   James Anderson has retired from all forms of cricket on 12th July 2024 after a win against the West Indies in the first Test Match of the 3 match series. He will no longer take part in international cricket anymore. It is a sad moment for all cricket fans as he has the highest amount of ODI wickets for England(269) has 18 T20I wickets because of the lack of T20IS he played. He also took 704 wickets in Test Matches which is his most admirable feat. The Bigger Picture: Jimmy Anderson has maybe deserved the title of the best English Test bowler. England has always had an admirable team with amazing bowlers as well. That just shows how good he was that he stood out. England gave the West Indians a thumping defeat of an innings and 114 runs. If someone tries listing the feats that Jimmy Anderson has achieved they will never finish. Hence, I will not waste your time and tell what England should do now. The Way Forward: England have a lot of talent and they also have a ve...

What will happen if the ICC T20 World Cup Semifinal 2 gets washed out?

If the ICC T20 World Cup Semifinal 2 between India and England gets washed out then India would go through to the finals. England wouldn't be able to recreate what happened last time these two teams met in a semifinal of a T20 World Cup. Last time out in the 2022 edition England defeated India to reach the final. This time however, if the match does get washed out it would be heartbreaking for the Englishman. The rule is actually that if the semifinal is washed out then the team with the higher points in their Super 8s groups will progress.        If this is the case then India will face South Africa as the proteas dealt a humiliating defeat to the Afghani earlier today. Afghanistan was all out for 56 runs. South Africa chased that down easily. If the match is washed out then the final might actually be extremely hard as South Africa and India both topped their Super 8 groups. They remained unbeaten in their respective groups. This way, then, the ...
