Aftermath of Pakistan and England 1st Test Match
It has been a very disappointing and humiliating match for Pakistan however if you look at it from an English Perspective there are a lot of positives to look forward too. In a time such as this for England with 2 of their longest serving and consistent bowlers retired 1 after another the future is still bright for English fans.
Without doubt England dominated this match whether with bat or ball. The ever consistent Joe Root stood up and shined bright alongside the destructive Harry Brook. Joe Root got to a score of 262 runs of 375 balls. Meanwhile Harry Brook made an austonding career best in international cricket of 317 runs of 322 balls. England declared with the score of 823/7.
Not long after did the bowlers have to strike and become the star of the show. On the very first ball of Pakistans second innings Abdullah Shafique played all around Chris Woakes's ball nipping back inside. Wickets kept falling as Gus Atkinson and Brydon Carse took 2 wickets each. Salman Ali Agha and Aamer Jamal showed some resistances, but soon fell victim too England's bowlers as Jack Leach came back in the attack. Coming back in to the attack after already taking the last wicket to fall of Saud Shakeel. He took the remaining 3 wickets to wrap the match and comfortably win England the match.
