What kind of problems is this World Cup causing?
This cricket World Cup in the USA is causing problems for a lot of franchises and players. As we all know the World Cup in the USA and the West Indies is going on with the knockout matches approaching and the nail biting finishes starting. However, right after this World Cup there are 3 franchise leagues that are starting.
The LPL(Lanka Premier League) the Hundred and the MLC(Major League Cricket). Now the LPL takes place in Sri Lanka every year and it will start from 1st July and end on 21st July. The Hundred will start on 23rd July and the final in Lords being on 18th August. The real problem will come now when the MLC which is held in the USA will start on 6th July and end on 29th July. Now since this is in the USA a lot of players that are playing in this and the LPL will most probably play in the MLC because the World Cup is also in USA and they might want to stay if they reach the knockout rounds.
Now in The Hundred you have to get a good start because otherwise then it is very hard to get going. Now then if there is someone playing in all of them then that would be a problem because they are all back to back. For example Kieron Pollard, Finn Allen and Akeal Hosein are playing in the MLC and the Hundred. They will arrive late to the Hundred. This will make a lot of problems because if players are not well rested then the performance also goes down and the teams that are dependant on these players might suffer.
That is why a solution could have been that they have at least 10 days difference to give rest and so the squad can get to know each other better. We will have to see what the boards of the respective countries will decide and take action upon int he further aditions.
